This harp was made in Chicago by Lyon & Healy; on the back of the neck is engraved the signature: Lyon & Healy Chicago Makers U.S.A. N_ 941 Manufactured under five Patents. Under the base the number 850 is engraved. From a structural standpoint the soundbox features a semicircular section and reinforcing rods inside, besides a peculiar metal rod; the neck is made of layered wood and is reinforced on the outside by the brass plates that enclose the double action mechanism. With respect to decoration, the capital on top of the column recalls the gothic style of Erard harps, but the design of the instrument as a whole is completely different.
