This harp, made by Jean-Henri Naderman, signed at the top of the soundboard (H. Naderman ‡ Paris), bears the number 23 inside the neck, under the base and stamped onto the mechanism. The gilt scroll surmounting the column creates a notable contrast of color with the black lacquered wood of the neck and soundbox; the soundboard is painted with floral motifs (which disguise the sound holes, arranged in four groups of six, plus two set apart on the upper part of the soundboard), epergnes and, on the lower part, a rural landscape. In contrast, the neck is decorated on both sides with elegant chinoiserie. The soundbox is composed of seven staves and has no openings.
